Why Short Hypnosis Training Courses Do NOT Work
Hypnotherapy training is an art and it is a science. You, the client are the art, and hypnotherapy is the science.
So for people who are wanting to learn hypnotherapy, a weekend course will not teach you all you need to know about hypnotherapy. So will a ten day course or a 20 day course, or does it take a year?
Here is a viewpoint that I have, some will disagree but in my school, I really want to ensure my students have the best shot of practicing hypnotherapy in the way they intend to do so.
It depends on what you are going to do with your hypnotherapy training.
If you are curious about how it works, what can be down with hypnosis and want to play around with it a shorter course is probably okay.
Some schools offer short courses to give you the basics of the hypnotherapy process. It will give you little confidence in actually using the hypnotherapy techniques as there is just not enough time to practice using them.
A longer course 20 days of training will give you the basics of the hypnotherapy course and will give you some confidence in delivering effective hypnotherapy.
If you are serious about healing people, about making an impact, you will want to take the longer course, and you will want to continue your education after that. Becoming an expert does take 10,000 hours so practice is essential to becoming great about hypnotherapy. Having a mentor is also helpful.
Taking a NLP course, a hypnotherapy course, and a coaching program all in 5 days and then you are certified is a scary proposition.
Use your spidey senses when choosing a school. If it sounds too good to be true, it most likely is. If you think you are going to make a ton of money in your first year, think again.
Short hypnosis or watered down hypnotherapy training will not bode well for the serious hypnotherapist.
